Well the last day of winter.

I was just wondering, is it just me or has this winter (For perth) we have had more temps in the teens than last year. I think this winter temps have been more average so that is why we have had more 17's 16's 18'setc.

I remember last year we hardly had any 16 degree days or below... maybe one or two for all of winter. I remember quite a lot of 20-22 degree days in winter.

Does anyone else think the same?

We received less than 2mm of rain after the 2nd of August last year. Rainless, sunny days are going to equal temperatures above 20 degrees. This year we've had consistent wet periods throughout winter.

24 days above 20 this year compared with 33 last year.

What are you talking about the 20's Vinny?

I mean no wonder there hasn't been many days in the twenties, it's bloody 2009. All the days are in the 09's

I don't know whether i'm just imagining it, but i'm sure we've had a few more temps around 15 than usual for August. It seems like it's been a typical Melbourne climate in Perth for most of this month.

I think we've got too used to having lots of sunny winter days in past years, hence the 20+ temps. To my mind its more normal not to have temps above 20 during winter. To use a cliche, when I was a girl I remember being happy finally seeing the temps forecast to be 20 or more one September day. Would have been around the early 1980's.

Looks like we are back to temps in the 20's this year. Though it could all average out if we get some really cold below average temps in the next few weeks.
